President Biden told NPR's Audie Cornish in an interview that Vice President Kamala Harris "would be a great president." Biden praised Harris's intelligence, toughness, and compassion, saying that she has "all the qualities you need to be a great leader."

Harris has been a vocal critic of Biden's policies, but Biden said that he "respects her opinions" and that she is "a valuable member of my team."

Harris is the first woman, the first Black woman, and the first South Asian American to serve as vice president of the United States.
